UNHINGED was founded by a team of public safety professionals who recognized a critical gap in today’s law enforcement, first responder, and military training environments. As active leaders in law enforcement, fire and rescue, and tactical instruction, our founders bring decades of field experience and agency-level insight to the table.
Driven by the need for realistic, reconfigurable, and rugged training tools, they designed the UNHINGED system to reflect the demands of real-world missions. Each member brings a unique background, but they’re united by a common goal: to elevate your team’s readiness with smarter, more adaptable training environments.
Brian Martin
Serving with the City of Apopka Fire Department since 2007, currently holding the rank of Captain. In this supervisory role, he oversees Fire/Rescue and EMS operations throughout the city. He is a State-Certified Fire Officer II, Instructor II, Safety Officer, and Live Fire Instructor. Since 2017, he has also served as a tactical medic with the Central Florida Metro SWAT team.
Steve Harmon
Sergeant Steve Harmon honorably retired from law enforcement in 2025 after more than two decades of service. With a career beginning in 2002, Steve spent the majority of his time on the front lines and in leadership roles, including serving as the Assistant Commander of his regional SWAT team. He is a certified instructor in Use of Force, Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Pepperball, and Active Shooter response. Drawing on his real-world experience, Steve now focuses full-time on developing and delivering realistic training solutions for law enforcement, military, and first responders through UNHINGED.
Jerry House
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Jerry moved to Orlando to earn his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice before beginning his career in law enforcement. He currently serves as a patrol sergeant and brings years of frontline experience to his role. Jerry has been an active member of his local SWAT team for over a decade and remains dedicated to high-level tactical training.
