Through years of training and instruction in both Law Enforcement and the Fire and Rescue Service, the team behind UNHINGED identified a glaring need for new, dynamic training environments. Acquired structures have become increasingly difficult to secure, and even when they are available, trainees quickly become oriented during drills, diminishing the structure’s long-term training value.

To counter this, the UNHINGED team began building wooden walls to reconfigure layouts and extend a structure’s usefulness. This shift radically changed the training experience. Buildings could now be customized and modified nearly endlessly, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Building on that success, the team took the concept further. Through rigorous engineering and testing, the UNHINGED Modular Training System was born, addressing every limitation of wooden walls while dramatically improving performance, durability, and ease of use.


Each panel is built with a closed-cell foam core encased in a fiber-reinforced ABS/pultrusion frame, making it incredibly strong yet lightweight - just 60 pounds, nearly half the weight of comparable wooden panels. The system is fully weatherproof and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use in almost any condition. Its patent-pending HLOX™ locking mechanism (U.S. Patent No. 63/773,138) enables fast, secure assembly by a single person even on uneven terrain, transforming virtually any location into a high-performance training opportunity.

UNHINGED also features proprietary door and window units that can be quickly adjusted for breaching, entry, and V.E.S. operations. Doors can be set to open inward, outward, left, or right, all in under a minute.
